Charlie and I went to Chicago

Charlie and I went with my friend to Chicago for the weekend. We had a blast touring the city. Charlie did fabulously flying on the plane and loved being with me and seeing the sights.

Freezing to death at a White Sox game. White Sox beat the Blue Jays...Can't remember the score as I was more worried about staying warm and dry.

Charlie, my friend Jo, and me at a Broadway show called "A Chorus Line". It was fabulous and fun and we got star treatment because I had Charlie and was given some of the best seats in the house.

Charlie and I rented a bike to check out the city. Charlie stayed in his sling and loved the wind in his ears.

April and May payments

I just wanted to remind parents that payment for April and May include 5 weeks of lessons due to the calendar. Payment will be $250/$175 instead of $200/$125.

April (the last couple of days in March are put in April's payment. ex March 30 and 31 lessons are paid for in April's payment.)

May (includes the first week of June since our quarter goes through the end of school.)

Please look at the calendar and make proper payment amounts for these two months.

Reminder that payment for April is past due, so please pay for April this week.

Winter Recital

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Winter Recital. I was so proud of all of you and thought everything was a big success. My sweet husband, Paul, was in charge of pictures along with several other jobs while the recital was happening. Unfortunately, Paul did not get a picture of some of you that sang at the beginning because he was running around trying to finalize things for me and the recital. I apologize to those whose photos will not be posted. You guys should all be proud of yourselves.

we have to end at 5:45 pm on the dot because they will kick us out. This library is located just a tad South of Barnes and Noble in the Sugarhouse Commons on 21st South and 11th East. We will be in the conference room that is downstairs.

Everyone needs to prepare one song of any style. Invite all your friends. The fee is $20 to be in the recital, but everyone can attend for free.

The Winter Quarter actually ends on Saturday February 28 and originally I was going to do the recital this day, but I have to go out of town for my husband's work.

December Master Class

We will be performing at the

Gallivan Center Ice Rink
on Saturday December 20 from 4-7 pm.

This will take place of our regular master class. It is not required, but is a fun way to feel the holiday spirit and to get a chance to perform. The address is

239 South Main Street

in downtown Salt Lake City. This is a three year old tradition now for the studio and several of my students have performed here before. Please make sure to dress extra extra warm because it is freezing cold. That means scarves, coats, boots, hats, gloves, etc. I have reserved our performance time from the hours of 4-7 pm. Students need to sign up for half hour slots to come down to perform. You can leave after you perform or stay and ice skate, or come early and ice skate before you sing. A sign up sheet will be at the studio and I will post new additions to the sheet on this blog. I am not sure how many songs students can do yet because I don't know how many students want to perform, but I am thinking probably 2 songs each.

Fall Recital

The Fall Recital is going to be fantastic! It will be held on Saturday, November 15 at the old Comedy Circuit location 7711 South 700 West in Midvale, Utah. It will begin at 5:00 pm and will end at 7:00 pm. Each student needs to prepare one Jazz song. Please sign up for the recital at the studio. I am excited to watch everyone perform. Everyone please invite family and friends so we can have a big audience and a lot of support.

Ah the smell of school text books, sharpened pencils, and the excitement of wearing brand new clothes can only mean it is time for the inevitable...Back to School! Just remind yourself, the new school year brings another quarter with Leah Stone and Charlie Pants Music: And that will bring a smile to your face.

I still have a couple of openings for the fall as I am teaching more hours this year. If you refer me a student I will reward you with a FREE ITUNES certificate so you can rock out all the time. This offer is only for current singing students who refer clients directly to me and not to the the Dean Kaelin studio.
